The Parks and Recreation Department plans and directs year round recreational programs and operations.  The Director of Parks and Recreation supervise an extensive seasonal staff in coordinating the many activities planned and related to recreation fields, courts, buildings, pool, marina and related facilities.

2014 Village Tree Lighting; Friday November 21st at 5:30pm 

The City's Annual Village Tree Lighting takes place on Friday, Nov. 21. Supported by the Friends of the Grosse Pointe Parade and the Grosse Pointe Foundation, the evening includes entertainment and refreshments.  Activities begin at 5:30 p.m. The Tree, a large evergreen located at the corner of Kercheval and St. Clair Avenues, will be lit at 6 p.m.  

Tree Lighting Evenings' Highlights will include free coney dogs complements of Harvard Grill, Carols sung by Grosse Pointe South’s Pointe Singers, warming fires and free s'mores sponsored by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, free hot chocolate sponsored by the Grosse Pointe Boat Club and a Reindeer-Sleigh-Elf combo for photo opportunities sponsored by the Friends of the Grosse Pointe Parade next to the Village Christmas Tree. The U.S. Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” program kicks off its holiday toy collection for new and unwrapped toys at the event with the arrival of the Toys for Tots Train. The Tree decorating is sponsored by City of Grosse Pointe Foundation.

Neff Park Ice Rink and Warming Room tentatively opens December 1st, 2014
Weather pending, the Ice Rink will be up and operational by December 1st, 2014.  Please check back for updates on Ice Rink Conditions.
Neff Parks 10th Annual Winter Fest; Saturday January 31st at 1:00pm
The City's Annual Winter Fest is in its tenth year and is a wonderful opportunity to take pleasure in the winter weather.  You will be able to experience various activities like curling, ice sculpting, ice skating, broomball, hockey shoot out, arts and crafts, warming fires, and much more.  A catered meal will also be available for your enjoyment, $5 per person.
2015 All Pointes Daddy Daughter Dance; Saturday March 15th, 2015
The Fourth Annual All Pointes Daddy Daughter Dance will take place at Grosse Pointe South's Main Gym on Saturday March 15 from 7 - 9PM. Registration opens February 1st, 2015 with a cost of $8 per person.  Registration includes a single stem rose, appetizers, refreshments, photo and dancing.  There is a registration deadline of Monday March 10th, 2015.   To register online, Click Here.

Grosse Pointe Park Okulski Theater:
