Parks & Recreation

 

The Parks and Recreation Department plans and directs year round recreational programs and operations.  The Director of Parks and Recreation supervise an extensive seasonal staff in coordinating the many activities planned and related to recreation fields, courts, buildings, pool, marina and related facilities.

Early and Online Registration
Participants must be full-time residents of the City to register during the early registration period.  Early registrations for nonresident participants will not be accepted; nonresident participants must register during the in-person period for that session. 
To register online, please Click Here.  For swimming lessons, participants will be placed in the same level for all sessions as in the first session.

Evening Hours for New Resident Park Passes and Reprints
The Parks and Recreation Office located in Neff Park next to the pool, will be open in the evening on the following dates for new residents to obtain their park passes. We will also be available for reprints of passes at these times:
 
Monday April 14:          4PM-7PM
Tuesday April 15:         4PM-7PM
Wednesday April 23:    4PM-7PM
Thursday April 24:        4PM-7PM 
 
  
 
10th Annual Spring Egg Hunt is April 17, 2014 at 5PM
This annual event is for ages 8 and under.  Activities will include Egg Hunt, Candy Bags, Golden Egg prizes, Petting Farm, a gift certificate raffle and a photo op with Peter Cottontail.  The cost is $3 per child.  Egg hunt bags will be provided and must be used; sorry, no baskets or other outside bags will be permitted.
 
 
 
2014 Norbs Swim Season
Our annual team registration meeting and team fitting will be held Wednesday, May 7 at 5:30 pm in the Neff Park Pavilion. At this meeting, we will be providing additional information about the upcoming season. Harper Sports will be available for fittings and to take orders for Norbs gear and team suits.

2014 All Pointes Daddy Daughter Dance; Saturday March 22, 2014
The Fourth Annual All Pointes Daddy Daughter Dance will take place at Grosse Pointe South's Main Gym on Saturday March 22 from 7 - 9PM. Registration opens February 1st, 2014 with a cost of $8 per person.  Registration includes a single stem rose, appetizers, refreshments, photo and dancing.  There is a registration deadline of Monday March 17th, 2014.   To register online, Click Here.
 
 
 
2013 - 2014 Detroit Red Wings Hockey - DISCOUNT TICKETS

Grosse Pointe Park Okulski Theater:
 
This winter City Residents are welcome to use Grosse Pointe Park's movie theater between November 15th and April 15th.  City Residents must show a valid park pass to be admitted.  No guests.  Tickets may be purchased on the day of, up to one hour prior to the show.  For movie information or additional questions, call 313-822-4313 or visit www.grossepointepark.org.
