Parks & Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department plans and directs year round recreational programs and operations.  The Director of Parks and Recreation supervise an extensive seasonal staff in coordinating the many activities planned and related to recreation fields, courts, buildings, pool, marina and related facilities.

2017 Parks and Recreation Seasonal Employment

The City of Grosse of Grosse Pointe Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for Part-time Seasonal Maintenance and Night Gate Attendants.  Candidates must have necessary certifications in Life Guarding, First Aid and/or CPR pending upon the position.  Previous experience in parks and recreation is preferred, or equivalent experience.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be at least 16 years of age for the position of Seasonal Maintenance
  • Must be at least 18 years of age for the position of Gate Attendant
  • Applications will be required to pass an oral interview including background check and a drug exam if picked by random selection
  • Applications and job descriptions may be obtained and submitted at: City of Grosse Pointe City Hall, 17147 Maumee Ave.

 New Resident Park Passes

Please call the Parks and Recreation office (313.343.5257) to find out what documentation you will need to provide when applying for your park pass.   

The Parks and Recreation office is located in Neff Park.  

Extended park pass hours will offered on the following dates:
Monday, April 17: 4:00-7:00pm
Tuesday, April 18: 4:00-7:00pm
Saturday, April 22: 8:00am-Noon

2016 - 2017 Platform Tennis

All-Pointes Cornhole Tournament

Grab a buddy and join us for the All-Pointes Cornhole Tournament!  The event will be held at Grosse Pointe Woods Lake Front Park on Saturday, May 13, 2017 beginning at 9:00am.

The registration form and $25 fee must be completed and turned in at City Hall or the Parks and Recreation department by Wednesday, May 3, 2017.  The registration form can be found by clicking HERE.  Registration is limited to the first six teams.  

All participants must be 18 and older.  

NORBS Swim Team Information
2017 NORBS swim team forms and information can now be found on the website by clicking HERE 
If you have not yet completed the Concussion Waiver Form, either from swim team or through swim lessons, please read the Concussion Information Sheet and fill out and return the Concussion Waiver Form.  This only needs to be done once for each child.  


Summer 2017 Recreation Program and Swim Lesson Registration

Early registration for swim lessons and recreation programming will begin May 15, 2017 and run through June 9, 2017.  During this time period, registration may be done via mail-in registration form or utilizing the City's online registration system.  For class descriptions, dates and fees, please refer to the 2017 Parks and Recreation Summer Newsletter found at the top of this page.

Walk in registration will only be accepted during the week that directly precedes each session.  

Neff Park Marina - Open April 1st - November 1st

All boats must be out of the Harbor by November 1st.  Annual renewals with the minimum deposit of 50% is due November 1st with the remaining balance due on or before February 1st.  All wells that do not receive the required deposit by the deadline will receive a $5 late fee for every week that the deposit is not paid.  All wells not paid for in full by February 1st will be forfeited and offered to residents on the waiting list.

Grosse Pointe Boat Club

Grosse Pointe Boat Club Membership Application - Interested in boating?  Join the Grosse Pointe Boat Club.  Headquartered in the "littlest" Club at Neff Park, the club promotes boating and water safety, enjoyment and seamanship, while providing sociability and fellowship among is members.  Boat ownership is not required.  if you have questions, please visit www.grossepointeboatclub.com.

Grosse Pointe Park Okulski Theater:

The City of Grosse Pointe Park will not be opening up use of their movie theater to the other Pointes as in the past.  It will remain open to Grosse Pointe Park residents and their guests only.
