Parks & Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Department plans and directs year round recreational programs and operations.  The Director of Parks and Recreation supervise an extensive seasonal staff in coordinating the many activities planned and related to recreation fields, courts, buildings, pool, marina and related facilities. 

The City of Grosse Pointe Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting applications for Lifeguards, Part Time Seasonal Maintenance and Night Gate Attendants. Candidates must have necessary certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid and/or CPR depending on the position.  Previous experience in parks and recreation is preferred, or the equivalent experience.

New Resident Park Passes


Please call the Parks and Recreation office (313.343.5257) to find out what documentation you will need to provide when applying for your park pass.   

The Parks and Recreation office is located in Neff Park. Office hours are from 8AM-4PM, Monday thru Friday. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Office to arrange a time to come in and apply for your pass.

The Parks and Recreation Office will open extended hours on the following dates for residents to come in and obtain their passes:

Monday, April 8, 2019 4:00PM - 7:00PM
Wednesday April 10, 2019 4:00PM - 7:00PM
Monday, April 15, 2019 4:00PM - 7:00PM



Neff Park Pool  - OPENING SOON

The Neff Park Pools will open for the season on Saturday, May 25, 2019.

Neff Park Marina Finger Pier Risers

The City has contracted with professional carpenters to prefabricate finger pier risers that can be constructed and installed, upon purchase, if such an option is desired. These risers will extend out halfway from shore (or main dock) level with a step down between the finger pier's middle uprights. 

The cost of these risers will be $365 for the 22 ft and 24 ft finger piers and $445 for the 30 ft, 32 ft, and 40 ft finger piers. These risers, and potentially the cost, will be shared with your finger pier neighbor. Please visit City Hall or the Parks and Recreation Office to submit your order and payment.

All-Pointes Blood Drive Challenge

All of the Grosse Pointe communities are issuing a challenge to the others, what percentage of your residents will give blood? There will be FOUR opportunities to donate blood, all in the Grosse Pointe area, so it is convenient for all residents. Please take a moment and consider donating blood. Online and Mail-In Lesson Registration NOW OPEN

Online and mail-in registration for swim and tennis lessons begins Monday, May 13.  When registering online, you may register for any or all of the three sessions we offer throughout the summer.  Please enroll your child in the same level for all sessions, and changes will be made as necessary in the office across the course of the summer.

Walk In registration will only occur the week prior to each session and will be limited to that session. Walk In Registration dates can be found in the Summer Newsletter at the top of the page. 


Please use the email you provided to us on your emergency response form as your login.  If you are new to the site, enter your email and press "Forgot Password" to have a randomly generated, temporary password sent to you.  Upon logging in, you can change your password to whatever you wish.  The site for online registration can be found by clicking HERE

Neff Park Marina  -  Open April 1 - November 1

All boats must be out of the Harbor by November 1st.  Annual renewals with the minimum deposit of 50% is due November 1st with the remaining balance due on or before February 1st.  All wells that do not receive the required deposit by the deadline will receive a $5 late fee for every week that the deposit is not paid.  All wells not paid for in full by February 1st will be forfeited and offered to residents on the waiting list.

Grosse Pointe Boat Club Membership Application - Interested in boating?  Join the Grosse Pointe Boat Club.  Headquartered in the "littlest" Club at Neff Park, the club promotes boating and water safety, enjoyment and seamanship, while providing sociability and fellowship among is members.  Boat ownership is not required.  if you have questions, please visit www.grossepointeboatclub.com.

Neff Park Ice Rink and Warming Room - OPEN

 

The Ice Rink and Warming Room are currently OPEN


Weather pending, the Ice Rink and Warming Room are open everyday 12:00/Noon until 7:00pm.  

Join us for a warming fire catered with hot chocolate and s'mores every Saturday that the Ice Rink is open.


This winter we will continue to collect used ice skates to have available for Residents in the Neff Park Warming Room.  All sizes and types in good condition will be accepted. Please bring your skates to the Neff Park Office

The All Pointes Daddy Daughter Dance will take place on Saturday March 10 at 6:30pm in the Grosse Pointe South's Main Gym.  Registration opens February 1, 2018 with a cost of $8 per person.  Registration includes a single stem rose, appetizers, refreshments and dancing. 

The registration deadline is Sunday, March 4 at 11:59PM.
