Part Time Parking Agent
The City of Grosse Pointe is accepting applications for a part-time Parking Agent.

Duties include parking enforcement and miscellaneous duties for the parking department. This position will also assist visitors with the City’s parking equipment. Must be able to walk extended distances, interact with customers, write violations, perform maintenance, and address minor equipment problems, and have a valid Michigan driver’s license.  Employee must be available to work up to 20 hours per week including some Saturdays and evenings. 

Salary Range: Starting hourly rate is $13.00

Seasonal Yard Waste Worker
The City of Grosse Pointe is accepting applications for a Seasonal Yard Waste Worker in the Public Services Department.


This job is a seasonal part-time hourly position from the first full week of April until the beginning of December. In this position, the job duties are to collect yardwaste, leaves, sticks and brush and place them into the refuse truck.  This position reports to work four days a week with a starting time of 7:30am for approximately 6 to 8 hours per day.  Driver’s license not required.

Public Service Worker
Position Overview:  The City of Grosse Pointe is accepting applications for a full time Public Service Worker position. Applicant should have multi-faceted, hands-on skills to handle a variety of tasks in the municipal public works arena such as landscape and building maintenance, repair of all types of municipal roads, trees, fixtures, facilities and equipment. A Public Service Worker will operate light and heavy equipment on a variety of public works assignments such as lawn mowing, snow plowing, leaf pick-up, collecting refuse on a commercial/residential route, and/or other duties. A satisfactory driving record and a driver’s license with a CDL Class B air brakes and the ability to maintain one throughout employment is required. Employee must have ability to respond to emergencies after hours and work a schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays as operational/seasonal needs demand. 

Salary Range:  Hourly rate range is $19.44-$24.29, depending on qualifications and comparable experience.

Mechanic

Position Overview:  This is a full-time position with the primary duty of maintaining and repairing the City’s refuse and dump trucks, heavy and small equipment, fleet vehicles, and other equipment.  Applicant would have multi-faceted, hands-on skills to handle a variety of assigned tasks in the municipal public works arena.  Employee may have to respond to emergencies after hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays in addition to varying seasonal requirements. The selected candidate will be expected to complete and obtain a valid State of Michigan CDL Class B with air brake endorsement within one year from start date.  A satisfactory driving record, and the ability to maintain one throughout employment is required.  Candidates with a mechanic license are preferred.
