City of Grosse Pointe Foundation

The City of Grosse Pointe Foundation is comprised of volunteers that give their time to fundraise, develop, and implement projects around the City of Grosse Pointe.  We host various fundraising parties which directly benefit the Foundation. They also support various other events in the City as a way for people to get to know them better.  There are many ways to contribute and become a member of the City of Grosse Pointe Foundation. An annual membership will support Foundation projects that their Trustees develop and implement. They rely solely on community support to fund the projects which enhance and beautify our City.

2024 Neff Park Kayak Dock Fundraising Campaign
The City of Grosse Pointe Foundation is fundraising for a new kayak launch, more kayak racks, and additional kayaks and paddle boards that will be available for residents to rent.

Neff Park’s picturesque waterfront is a beautiful place to enjoy kayaking, and our current dock needs an upgrade. The proposed new dock will be ADA-accessible, which will allow people of all abilities to fully enjoy the natural beauty.

The project is estimated to cost $60,000, and the Foundation is actively seeking donations from residents and local businesses who are passionate about expanding the recreational activities
the City of Grosse Pointe has to offer.

2024 Platform Tennis Lighting Upgrades

The City of Grosse Pointe Foundation is partnering with local platform tennis players to raise funds to upgrade the lighting at the Elworthy Platform Tennis Courts.

These upgraded lights will be LED and will be a significant upgrade from the current metal halide structures. The new lights will not require a "cooling off" period and can be turned on immediately to allow for continuous play on the courts.

The project is estimated to cost $12,000, and the Foundation is actively seeking donations from residents and local businesses who are passionate about providing high quality recreation venues.

Neff Park Memorial Bricks
Over the last 18 years, we have installed over 1,100 engraved bricks surrounding the Neff Park walkways. Each brick is engraved with the name of a donor’s family member, friend or other recognition for all to see as they enter the Park.

Brick recognition was provided for cumulative donations of $300 or greater.  Due to the time and logistic constraints, this program has been discontinued. We are in the process of honoring the recent donor requests and in the process of fulfilling the final orders.  Installation of these final orders will be completed in the fall of 2023.

To locate current bricks along with their engravings, please refer to the links below:
