2021 Comprehensive Street and Sewer Projects

Through a selective bidding process, the City of Grosse Pointe has awarded  Pro-Line Asphalt Paving of Washington, Michigan the 2021 contract to perform the street reconstruction projects along with the necessary water and sewer repairs.  These projects will include complete reconstruction of Loraine Avenue from Mack Avenue to Waterloo, with the resurfacing of sections on Rivard (Maumee to Jefferson and Kercheval to Charlevoix) and Charlevoix (Loraine to Neff).

In addition to asphalt improvements,  work will include replacing bad sections of concrete curbs on Charlevoix and complete removal of curb and gutter on Rivard, some driveway approaches where necessary, and some sidewalk ramps at intersections to comply with ADA requirements as street levels may be adjusted for drainage.  Utility structures will be adjusted as well.

Weather dependent, Pro-Line Asphalt Paving, along with their underground utility subcontractor, Pamar Enterprises of New Haven, Michigan, anticipates starting work  Monday, June 21 on Loaraine.  The Charlevoix project will begin in July, the Rivard project (Kercheval to Charlevoix) will begin in August, and the Rivard project (Jefferson to Maumee) will begin in September.

Additional updates will be posted on the City Website regarding these projects.  If you would like to receive these updates by e-mail, you can request to be added to the distribution list by e-mailing Christopher Hardenbrook at chardenbrook@grossepointecity.org.
